During the years 1880 to 1919, The Cambrian was one of the most popular magazines read by Welsh-Americans. It is a magazine labelled by commentators such as Bob Owen as being "a mine of information on the history of Welsh men in the USA".
During its 39 years of publication it collected, in numerous articles and notes, information about thousands of Welsh-Americans, their settlements and their history. The Cambrian also contained letters, poetry, contemporary news items and scholarly articles.
Following the digitisation of this magazine as part of the Wales-Ohio Project at the National Library of Wales, this website presents all 19,000 images of its pages, made available to audiences worldwide.
